European HIV-Hepatitis Testing Week 2018

Published:

European HIV-Hepatitis testing week runs from 23rd-30th November 2018. The initiative, which was launched by HIV in Europe in 2013 and is now in its sixth year, is an international campaign that encourages partner organisations throughout Europe to unite for one week to promote increased access to testing and to reduce late diagnosis by communicating the benefits of earlier testing for HIV and hepatitis. It is supported by more than 30 international organisations, including UNAIDS, European AIDS Clinical Society, AIDS Action Europe, European Liver Patients Association and the World Hepatitis Alliance and in 2017, over 600 organisations from across 53 countries took part in testing week. The theme for this year’s testing week is Test. Treat. Prevent.

There are many locations and clinics around Ireland where free testing for HIV, hepatitis and STIs is available. A list of free public testing services is available here. Information on HIV testing available through NGO's is available here

To date, 16 organisations in Ireland have signed up to be part of European HIV-Hepatitis testing week – for an up to date list of organisations involved see here.
