Updated Guidelines for the Emergency Management of Injuries (EMI) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) have been published by the Research and Guideline Development Unit.

The guidelines were updated following an extensive review process, facilitated by an expert guideline development group. Notable updates to the guidelines include new recommendations in relation to post-exposure prophylaxis for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), a restructured format, multiple text updates, and updates to some terminology used throughout the guideline.

While the original EMI Toolkit page has been retired, the full updated guideline and associated content can be accessed by direct links on the HPSC website. A summary of recommendations is available which contains direct links to content such as the algorithms and tables, to aid decision-making.
