Health Protection Conference 2024
To celebrate two years since the launch of Ireland’s National Health Protection Strategy, HSE Public Health: Health Protection are holding a conference on October 8th in Dublin Castle. Focusing on the theme of “Managing Environmental Hazards in a Changing Climate”, the conference aims to unite national and international health experts and stakeholders in the fields of Health Protection and Environment and Health, serving as a platform for sharing insights, building relationships and fostering future collaborations.
Renowned international and national experts Dr Ed Wynne-Evans (Director of Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards Directorate, UK Health Security Agency), Professor Mary Horgan (Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health), Dr Éamonn O’Moore (Director of National Health Protection, HSE) and Dr Ina Kelly (Consultant in Public Health Medicine: Environment and Health) will address the conference.
The presentations at the event will cover a wide range of topics including an overview of the current state of play and future opportunities for Environment and Health within HSE Public Health: Health Protection, climate change policy and changes to infectious disease epidemiology. This event provides a unique opportunity to celebrate a remarkable year of progress, while also acting as a forum to learn from colleagues, strengthen our global connections and shape the future development of an all-hazards Health Protection service to enhance Ireland's health security.

- The conference takes place in the Hibernia Centre, Dublin Castle, Dublin, Ireland and can be accessed via the Castle Street entrance off Dame Street.
