Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines for Irish Healthcare Facilities Sub-Committee
Terms of Reference
- To develop generic guidance on prevention and control of infection for healthcare settings in Ireland taking into account the following:
- Current national (SARI and HPSC) guidance documents on the control of specific infectious pathogens and other relevant national guidance documents (e.g., decontamination of reusable medical devices and laundry management)
- Adopting 'Standard and Transmission-based Precautions' from the CDC 'Guideline for Isolation Precautions: Preventing Transmission of Infectious Agents in Healthcare Settings 2007'.
- Where applicable, develop quality improvement tools to assist staff in identifying and addressing gaps in practice.
