MRSA in ICU Prevalence Study
The MRSA in ICU Prevalence study was developed by members of the SARI (Strategy for the Control of Antimicrobial Resistance in Ireland) Infection Control Sub-Committee and overseen by a multidisciplinary steering group. After a pilot study in 2007, the study commence in April 2008 to December 2010. With the advent of the HSE critical care and healthcare-associated infection (HCAI) clinical programmes and ongoing developments in critical care HCAI surveillance, the steering group stood down and the study was completed. Future developments in critical care surveillance will be developed by HPSC in conjunction with the critical care and HCAI clinical care programmes.
