Emergency Management of Injuries Sub-Committee
Terms of Reference
1. To identify guidelines currently in place in emergency settings in Ireland and abroad on the management of needlestick, sharps and human bite injuries presenting for emergency care.
2. To develop a comprehensive set of guidelines on the management of such injuries in terms of the prevention of transmission of infectious diseases, with particular emphasis on blood-borne viruses, to be recommended for use in emergency medical settings in Ireland.
