Viral Gastroenteritis Sub-Committee
Terms of reference
1. To develop national guidelines to assist Specialists in Public Health Medicine, Environmental Health Professionals, Microbiologists, Hospital Clinicians, General Practitioners and Infection Control Professionals in surveillance, diagnosis, definitive laboratory identification, management, prevention and control of illness caused by human calicivirus, rotavirus, astrovirus and human enteric adenovirus in humans.
2. To review current surveillance of these viruses in Ireland and to make recommendations for its improvement.
3. To identify the requirements in relation to the use of diagnostic and reference facilities.
