The consultation period for the Preschool and Childcare Facility Sub-Committee document "Management of Infectious Disease in Childcare Facilities and other Childcare Settings" closed on 18th March 2011. The revised document will be published later this year.Terms of Reference
- Review available guidance on reducing the risk of infection in childcare facilities.
- Outline current legislation in the area, relating to the protection of human health.
- Outline methods of transmission of infectious diseases in childcare settings .
- Make recommendations on measures to be implement effective infection control in childcare settings.
- Make recommendations in relation to the screening and vaccination of children attending childcare facilities.
- Make recommendations in relation to the screening and vaccination of staff working in childcare settings.
- Make recommendations in relation to the exclusion of children and staff who are infected with/carrying an infectious disease from childcare settings.
- Outline current guidance in relation to the built environment and capacity of childcare facilities and make recommendations in relation reducing the risk of disease transmission.
