National Clostridium difficile Surveillance Project, March 2009
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre, St. Vincents University Hospital and University College Dublin conducted a one month study to obtain enhanced surveillance, typing and antimicrobial susceptibility data on C. difficile infection in Ireland in March 2009. Participating healthcare facilities completed enhanced surveillance information on both new and recurrent cases and sent specimens for typing and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
